Autumn Sunflowers Make Me Smile

 

Anyone who knows me knows autumn is my favorite time of year. The smells and visuals take me back to happy childhood memories in Maine. As an aging adult I still favor autumn, but my arthritis will disagree if given a chance. Last year the season arrived early, this year is more on track weather-wise. All it takes is a few cold overnights and it kicks off the transition. 

My Zepbound journey has gone well. I began in May on a low dose and still remain on it. Weight loss aside, Zepbound is an anti-inflammatory. When I began the journey, I was suffering with hypertension, arthritis, lower back pain, hip pain, and pain from my lipoma disorder. I’m pleased to report that all of that has resolved so much that I no longer need medications nor suffer from any of it. I’m sure my current weight loss of 40 pounds is also helping. I was a robust 205 in May and as of this post I’m in the 160’s. Nothing aches anymore, my lipomas have decreased in size, and I feel like myself again.

In other news my husband’s much better with his pacemaker. The only complication has been that his incision is taking a long time to heal. There was a small area that a stitch had come out and after four months it seems to finally be sorting itself. He’s had to keep it covered and remain on an antibiotic in the interim. 

We have been busying ourselves with the seasonal farm stands enjoying locally grown food. The Taylor farm national lettuce recall was a blessing in disguise and a windfall of business for the area farmers. No sooner did they open their roadside stands they would empty within a day. My favorites are the sunflowers and local corn on the cob. 

We are still home hunting but putting it aside soon as winter draws closer. Between the high interest rates and everything else that keeps going up it can be disheartening. This is a scary time to live in America. As of my writing it’s obvious I have blogged less but do my best to be sure I’m here every month. I’m having a dry spell of blog ideas, maybe I’m becoming bored with it. Nonetheless, I enjoy sharing the images of New England and will continue.
