You Get Less Years For Murder He Said
It's been a very busy time for us. We celebrated both a landmark birthday for my husband, and one for our 25 years together.
In his usual Brit wit fashion, my dearest announced on our anniversary "You get less of a sentence for murder" regarding the latter. Did I smack him? Absolutely. It seems like just a few years ago we met for the first time when he flew into Boston from England for a visit. It's accurate to say we were part of the earliest generation of people beginning to date online. The internet was new, our connection was an online accident, and the rest as they say, is history.Back when my grandparents celebrated their silver anniversary I was young, but I was aware it was an important one. There was much ado and celebration with our large extended family, music, dancing, and congratulations. Ours was a more closed quiet time spent with immediate loved ones, having also just having the birthday days prior.
We are still in the midst of winter trying to hold on by the claws. Though it's still spitting snow the trees are at the same time showing their new spring buds. It's like a long divorce dragging out. This is going into month 7 of cold, unlike the past years. The ice-out has happened here and was pushed out by the raging currents. It happened so fast people lost their ice fishing shacks into the water seemingly overnight, along with a few vehicles.
Around parts of the state seasoned New Englanders have tried to keep a sense of humor and make the best of the extended winter. I have no desire to tempt my health late in life, others here took that chance plunging into the freezing water in frustration or possibly delirious with cabin fever!
Last week we were able to once again get a newly pre-qualified to start to our home search, so that's where we are at. It's year two and lord knows where we will end up at this pace. The good news is rates are lower but the housing not so much. We have noticed price drops here and there but more so the inventory is way down. It's still early spring and people are starting to move around and shift locations, maybe they'll all go south.
If you are also house hunting out there you have my sympathy. At this point we are now working with 2 realtors in two areas. Our price point isn't the highest in comparison and it feels we are less an agent priority, but with my face in listings hours daily everyday it will happen. The power of positive thinking will triumph.
